Pulau Ketam Steamboat

How's your public holiday so far? It is a good day to just wake up and see the sunshine peeping in through the window offering you a great day ahead. And for me finally I can write a blog post!

What do you like to do when you have free time? I like to spend with my sister and haunting food that is under our budget.

So about last month we were so craving for seafood steamboat. But most of them are quiet pricey per head. Later we decided to try Pulau Ketam Steamboat which is situated in KL Festival.

The entrance is very small and a bit hidden but fear not, when you enter it you will find out it is very large inside.

The interior is very simple and with bright orange chairs to spice up the area.

We decided to dine outside because the weather was so good and windy which was perfect for us to have late lunch together.

The outside area is facing to a lake which added points why we decided to sit there.

The waitress was very friendly and helpful in helping us to choose the meal set. Later we wanted to try Double Combo Value Set which is offered for two people.

My sister chose Chicken Soup and mine was Tom Yam Soup. I have to say the Tom Yam soup was delicious and almost exactly like we were in Thailand. However, my sister said the Chicken Soup was a bit just okay but can be spiced up with the condiments and it would make it tastes tastier.

As you can see I almost finish the whole fried onions. I love to put it in my soup and tasted the crunchy of it.

However the real presentation of the meal was not as good as in picture but everything were there.

Here are us enjoying every sip of it.

If you guys have big appetite I recommend you to pick the meal set for 3 or 4 because the meal set for two was not enough.

But I came back again alone to have my lunch since Nina couldn't make it due to class.I ordered the Mussels Value set for 1 person which is RM29.80.

(The picture was taken with my phone so sorry for the quality)

This set was more than enough for me. The mussels were chew-able and I don't know why they tasted like fish lol. I left with happy tummy and was satisfied.

So I'm going to rate this 3.5 out of 5 star. It's a great place to eat steamboat if you are under budget and worth it as well.

Mucho Gracias!

Boat Noodle Jaya One

Sometimes life throws bad things to people. It happened to me in my studying. I did not performed well in my last exam. However I managed to pass all the papers but it upsets me still. This was because I did not had my manual/text book to study as it was out of stock. I paid for it but I got nothing. Moved on and I just took the exam.

This new semester in order to avoid the manual books to be out of stock , I went to collect them early with my sister. I decided to be grateful that I got my book and would perform well in the future. So Nina and I wanted to indulge ourselves with good food to eat for my fresh start. We decided to eat at the Boat Noodles. Luckily, it was not far from my college.

It is situated at The School Jaya One. I love this place. It got so many cafes and restaurants that offer so many good food for you or it would be a good place to just hang out with friends and sips of coffees.

We love Thai food so much because we are grown with it. And we love street food too! Hence, we could not ask for more when we had our early dinner there.

The exterior was simple and with a bit touch of Thai floating street.

The decoration inside of the place was simple too , with small tables and chairs. Made us felt like we were really at the street lol.

We were seated at the number 18 table. I loved the strip colours, made it looked unique to me.

However, the menu is not extensive. It only offers a few types but they were enough for us at that time. Plus the noodles are only RM1.90 each!

There are two types of noodles soup , Ayutthaya and Pathumthani. Ayutthaya soup is a bit greenish in colour while Pathumthani is more dark brown.

The condiments – reminiscent of Thailand’s restaurants.

We knew these were not a healthy choice but we had coke for our drinks.

Full picture of our first round.

Sadly I do not eat beef because of some issues while Nina loves beef! So we both ordered different menus.  I had Grill Chicken Meat Ball and I loved it so much. Weirdly, it is more pricey than the noodles lol. RM4.90 per bowl.

Nina had Grill Beef Meat Ball for RM5.90 and she said it was good.

So these are the main dishes. RM1.90 each.

Ayutthaya Chicken Thai Rice Noodles.

 Pathumthani Chicken Thai Rice Noodles.

Ayutthaya Beef Thai Rice Noodles.

 Pathumthani Beef Thai Rice Noodles.

A candid picture of me took by Nina while I was eating.

We both agreed that we prefered Pathumthani soup because it was tastier for us. And Nina told me that these soups would tasted better with beef. So I recommend you guys to choose beef over chicken. Unless you are not a beef eater like me lol. We rate this to be 4/5 because of the delicious food and friendly service!

And we were ready for our second round!

Operation hours : 10am - 10pm

Hot Topic : Food!

YES! There's got to be reason why I am who I am today. I'm talking about my weight guys. LOL. I've decided to post about this topic because well, first everyone loves food. Second there are so many food pictures in my phone gallery (so sorry of the pictures' quality) because (call me mental illness whatever) I like to snap picture of my meals. It's nothing personal, I'm just having the moment when the food is served. And I wanna share some of my favorite food that I'd tried.

I like western food and seafood so warning for those who don't like it.

SUNGAI CONGKAK

It happened when my family and I went to Sungai Congkak for school project. Woke up in the morning feeling hungry, we went to the nearest stall in search for breakfast. We thought we would have Nasi Lemak or else. But to our surprised, that place only serve burgers and Roti John and Maggie goreng only. Without any choices we ordered burgers and Roti John. The food was fine. The bread was bit crunchy and soft and we can request for extra sauce. Eventhough the food was just fine but the owner was friendly and nice. So yeay for that. Too bad I can't remember the name of the stall. But it's situated at the top and end of the road of Sg. Congkak.

I'll rate this food 3/5!

OLD TOWN

For those who had followed me on Facebook and Instagram would have known that I eat this a lot! OMGosh it's the best Curry Mee in the world! I like this very much. The curry was well balanced and not too spicy. My sister also love this Curry Mee too. And the chicken was so delicious. I guess it must be the honey that make it tasted so good? I don't know. I'm not good in figuring this things out. But when you order for the lunch set the curry is lesser than the normal price. Have no fear, it's still tasted the same!

I usually eat it with Pepsi float for my drink to make it tastier. So I'll rate this 5/5 !

PENANG NYONYA

It was when me and my boyfriend were going to watch movie but we reached there early. So we decided to dine first. We were in between to choose Chicken Rice Shop or Penang Nyonya. He asked me and I chose Penang Nyonya for no reason actually. LOL. I ordered one set for one person which had Nasi Lemak & Ice Kacang & ice tea for drink.

I'm not a big fan of ice kacang so I gave it to him and he said it tasted good. Then I decided to give it a try. It was good but still not a big fan of ice kacang anyway.

Whenever I went for a restaurant which served Nasi Lemak, I will definitely try it. Because Nasi Lemak is my favourite food besides seafood and western food. The serving was "oh my god I can't wait to eat it" but it was so so only. Not too bad not too good. We wished we had chosen Chicken Rice Shop instead of this one. I'll rate this 2/5!

FISH MANHATTAN

I just had my convocation last month so we need to return the jubah and topi back after that. So after we had sent them we went to Setia Alam City Mall. I was so hungry( like always) so he decided to eat at the Fish Manhattan. I was beyond happy to hear that of course lol. We had same mind when we ordered same color drinks.

The left one is Gummy Bear which was blue at first and when he stirred it a bit it turned out green. And mine is Blue Lagoon. His drink tasted unique and yummy and mine tasted just a regular float. Why I always make bad decision? -.-'

He ordered Grilled Gala Platter for our lunch. It was delicious! Seafood & western? Great combo! This picture makes me hungry again. How I wish this one is in front of me right now -.-' . But it's very pricey in Malaysia. It had cost us RM82++ for just two drinks and this. So I decide to have it for celebration only.

I'll rate this 5/5 !

MOHD CHAN RESTAURANT

We always wanted to try to eat here but we didn't have much time to go there. But later we finally got to go there and ate! He likes seafood too. So we ordered Dry Spicy Lala , Ketam Sos Special , Baby Kailan Masak Sos Tiram and one plate of rice. The food was insanely delicious especially the crab one!! I really recommend for you guys to come here and check it out yourself!

We only ordered one plate of rice because I was a lil' bit full. But I finished them all anyway lol. We are planning to come here next time when we have the time to eat together.

I'll definitely rate this one 5/5! Thank you for reading. Xoxo.

Iftar Part Two

It was one week before first Syawal . So this time we went to Impian Morib to break our fast before everyone were starting to busy themselves with Aidilfitri decorations. Me and my boyfriend went a bit late as we went with different car. So when I reached there , his family were already gathering and waiting for breaking time.

Since we were like twelve people all together , we had to sit on different table. The place was nice with minimum decorations. And the place was less crowded compared to the last one , might be some like to berbuka puasa with their families on their last week of fasting.

A little details on the table while we were waiting for food.

Since it was a buffet so it was self-serviced .We were served Masakan Melayu for our iftar. I was a bit confused which one should I picked first because it got so many choices and tasty!

My favourite part of the meal was Roti Goreng with sauce . It was so yummy but too bad I was fulled and could only finished two three slices only.

The stuffs were very nice to us when we asked for less sugar drink since the one they had served was too sweet for us. Thank you for having me once again for iftar with your family. I had a good time and most importantly my tummy was so happy about it.

p/s : I will be pursuing my study soon so I was a bit excited for it. Plus I can't wait to meet my new classmates and coursemates!

Thank you for reading. Till we meet again in the next post. Bye !

Iftar Part One

Hey guys! Sorry for taking such a long time to write another post. No I'm not totally busy. I was just not in the mood to start writing. As I'm typing this I'm babysitting my brother because of some problems. Anyway , I've decided to post about my fasting month which was two month ago. My boyfriend decided to break our fast at Hotel Concorde KLIA. So we reached there about 7.15pm and checked in for reservation.

The best part of this entry is the food! Oh my gosh ! The food there was so delicious! Might be because I was so hungry but trust me the food was amazing lol.

It got varieties of food. From Masakan Melayu to western and Japanese.Of course I would had rice first before indulged in other food.

This is one of his twin sister and his grandma waiting for our break fast time. The place was not too crowded and everyone was having great time with their families and friends.

After I had done with my first meal , I went for dessert and decided to choose this oreo cake instead of strawberry one. I was glad I had made a right choice because I don't fancy cakes or cupcakes because they are too sweet for me but this one was just nice! I love it. Not too sweet and delicious too.

Later , I wanted to eat sushi and satay but too bad I was so full. I only managed to eat mushroom soup and some fruits. After we had done and performed our prayer we went home and I was coughing and my throat felt so itchy. Might be due to the water served there. But everything went good . So thank you for having me to break our fast together and I really enjoyed it there. Bye !

p/s : I only used my phone camera to capture those so sorry for low quality pictures!
